The Society prides itself on the quality of its publications. The Society is eager to receive photographs and items such as old bills, receipts and adverts to reproduce in the Guides. Appropriate information such as date taken, where taken and names must accompany photographs.

Clydach Today!

Today, Clydach is a dormitory town to Swansea with an excellent road system and with easy access to the M4 motorway. The world famous Mond nickel works is the major employer with around 240 staff, appreciably down on the 2,000 and more employed in the early part of the 20th Century.

Clydach Historical Society

The Clydach Historical Society was founded by a group of enthusiasts in April, 1983 and now has a following of about 500 members. The Society’s Constitution states that ‘It is an aim of the Society to provide, encourage and generate critical thought about local history’ and this must have been fulfilled many times over as we are now in our 25th year. The Society is one of the largest in Wales.
